We always need visitors. Visit someone who is unable to be in church. Bring communion or just bring yourself and share a time of prayer, news and story.
Readers meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 PM at a member's home. Call the parish office for the next meeting place and the next book. All readers, whether from Advent or not, are most welcome.
We have active women’s and men’s groups who are the backbones of this parish when it comes to service. Our men's group leader is Michael Torpey. Call the office for more information at (609) 884-3065. The women's group leader is Carol Obligado, (609) 898-9699. Please contact them for additional information. The women meet monthly in the Parish Hall. The men meet on the first Tuesday of the month for breakfast in the Parish Hall.
These are the loyal and dedicated women and men who make it work. They gather to set up in advance of our services. They clean and polish and enjoy each other. There is always room for one more.
It takes all sorts on Sunday morning and so it takes you to volunteer. Whether you would just like to greet your neighbors, or read one of the lessons, serve as an acolyte at the altar, or bear the chalice when we come to the rail for communion, there is a place for you.
Advent’s Outreach Committee is an active group that reaches out to the community with hand’s on work (such as organizing and participating in an annual CROP walk against hunger), supporting local children with cultural enrichment and responding to those who find themselves in particular need. Do you have an idea, a talent, a story? Perhaps there is something that pulls at your heart. Is there something that you would like to teach? These are the beginnings and foundations of community. Here is the way we start programs that feed us and the world. If you do have an idea, don't be shy. Speak to someone the clergy or one of the members of the vestry.. Your light is too bright to hide.
